Limited Use Suit
*What do you understand by the term “limited-life”?
The European standard prEN943-1:1997 defines limited-use clothing as “chemical protective clothing for limited wear life usage i.e. to be worn until hygienic cleaning becomes necessary or chemical contamination has occurred and disposal is required”.
The Respirex limited-Life Type 1a gas-tight chemical protective suit is manufactured from Tychem® TK.
It is of one-piece construction and is fully encapsulating, covering both the wearer and the breathing apparatus.
The suit incorporates the latest design technology and is compatible with a wide range of breathing apparatus.
Respirex limited-life gas tight suits are extensively used by emergency teams throughout the world.
The suit is approved to EN943-2: 2002.
Product Features
• A visor manufactured from a laminate material produced at Respirex permitting clear undistorted vision. The visor will hold back chemical permeation for the substances listed in the European standard EN943-2:2002 and the American standard NFPA 1991 for more than 480 minutes, mechanical strength of the visor conforms to EN146:1991 Heavy duty 122cm (48”) gas-tight zip fitted to the right hand side of the suit covered by overlapping storm flaps with a Velcro closure
• Polymer rubber outer gloves laminated to a highly chemically resistant inner glove fitted by means of the Respirex locking cuff mechanism; this system enables the user to replace the gloves when necessary.
